ESPN Films presents The Announcement Trailer
Set to air March 11, the latest ESPN Films magnum opus comes in the form of The Announcement, which spotlights Magic Johnson’s shocking revelation that he was HIV Positive. This stunning announcement of course caused Magic to retire from the Los Angeles Lakers with several good years of basketball in front of him. With interviews ranging from Pat Riley to Chris Rock, this is surely going to be a film that transcends the world of sports and examines a culture that was still dealing with the “death sentence” of a disease.
Adidas Basketball – 2012 NBA All-Star Game Uniforms

As the official outfitter of the NBA, adidas had the privilege of designing the uniforms for the upcoming 61st NBA All-Star Game in Orlando. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the last time the NBA had its All-Star Game in Orlando, and the design team at adidas is paying tribute to that memorable game with jerseys featuring oversized block lettering similar to the 1992 jerseys. They’re also adorned with dip-dyed hardwood heather patterns that recalled the floor of the old Orlando Arena, as well as gold accenting and three silver stripes that provide a complementary bit of sheen to the tonal blue and red uniforms.via freshnessmag
Nike Zoom Kobe VII – Iridescent
The guys at Nike Harajuku in Tokyo have graced us with shots of this new colorway of the NikeKobe VII in an interesting iridescent colorway. Be sure to click through and view the gallery containing images of the shoe finished in a sparkling purple hue, as well as the blueish-green above. Yep, they’re the same shoe. The Flywire-infused upper reflects back differing colors depending on the angle and lighting, making this most innovative of basketball sneakers even more so. It’s proving to be a big year for Kobe — in terms of his signature sneaker, not so much for his Lakers — but this is one release that might be contained to just the Asian market. Stay tuned for word on a stateside drop.
adidas Originals x Jeremy Scott JS Roundhouse Mid ‘Handcuff’

For Fall/Winter 2012 Jeremy Scott tackled the adidas Originals Roundhouse Mid. Working within a fairly standard color scheme for the silhouette (actually nearly identical to one that’s already been out), Mr. Scott added a plastic chain-link and rubber cuff at the ankle as well as 3M reflective striping over the upper. You can also see a peek at the ‘BOP BEE BOP’ shoe, that appears to be scribbled on with whiteout, in the background.
